Honolulu Considering New Trash Plan

Honolulu, Hawaii -- The city of Oahu is seeking proposals to find the cheapest, safest way to decrease the amount of trash that goes into its nearly-full landfill.

So far, one company wants the city to allow it to build a plant that would turn garbage into compost. Another wants to build a plant that uses heat and pressure to turn trash into lightweight building materials.
