Responsibilities:
-Work closely with the Market Area Manager and Director of Operations in formulating long-range and intermediate goals and action plans for the markets and business areas of the district.
-Explore new markets and products. Maintain various schedules to reflect market position, personnel needs, volume and sales forecast, inventory and facilities requirements etc.
-Coordinate with production activities with Operations Staff. Consult with Area and Group management on economic trends, sales forecasts and market problems.
-Participate in regular P&L reviews to ensure budgets are met by formulating programs on routing equipment utilization, equipment maintenance, labor and material costs.
-Monitor and control costs, budgets, and operating efficiency.
-Develop, implement, and maintain processes, procedures, and programs to improve the safety, productivity, and profitability of the operation.
-Ensure that employee disputes and safety/performance issues are addressed and that the appropriate documentation is filed in the employees’ personnel file. Recognize and reward employees who have good performance.
-Interact with local city, municipal and county agencies to ensure customer satisfaction, improve efficiency, renew contracts and negotiate new contracts.
-Provide leadership, communication, and coaching to employees; cultivate a motivated employee environment of trust, teamwork, accountability and business ownership.
-Develop and implement safety programs to reduce frequency of accidents and injuries to both associates and customers. Assist in minimizing overall workers compensation costs. Help the Northwest Area become a leader in safety performance.
-Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience. 5 to 10 years of well-rounded experience in ops, customer service, community relations, health & safety, financial and HR.
-Minimum 5 years experience as a manager. Experience in waste, environmental services, energy, or transportation industries a plus.
-Demonstrated skills in organization, prioritization, time management and multi-tasking.
-Excellent leadership skills, hands-on, people oriented, ability to foster teamwork and motivate/coach others; ability to work and manage under pressure; ability to interact with all levels of the Company.
-Ability to make professional presentations to local government agencies and related organizations and respond appropriately to tough questions.
-Strong analytical and intermediate skill level using MS Office products.
