NRC Calls for Nominations

Alexandria, Va. -- The National Recycling Coalition (NRC) has announced a call for nominations for its annual awards, to be presented at the Annual Congress and Exposition Sept. 8-11, 2002, in Austin, Texas.

NRC will present awards in the following 12 categories:

Recycler of the Year -- Lifetime Achievement

Outstanding Community or Government Program

Outstanding Recycling Innovation -- Product or Process

Outstanding Environmental and Community Leadership

Outstanding Corporate Leadership

Outstanding School Program

Outstanding Market Development

Outstanding Public Education

Outstanding Minority Business/Individual Award

BRBA Best Business or Government Buy-Recycled Program

BRBA Best State Buy-Recycled Campaign

BRBA Award for Innovative New Product or Material

Nomination information is available at www.nrc-recycle.org. Nominations are due by Friday, June 28, 2002.

Additionally, the NRC's College and University Recycling Council and the National Soft Drink Association (NSDA) will present three student scholarship awards to full-time undergraduate students engaged in studies or extracurricular activities related to recycling, solid waste management or natural resource management.

Scholarship information is available at NRC's website and NSDA's website at www.nsda.org. Applications are due by July 15, 2002.
