Harrisburg, Pa. -- The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has announced 120 new Recycling Performance Grants, totaling nearly $6.2 million, for county and community recycling efforts in 34 Pennsylvania counties.

This is the second round of grants announced this year. In May, the DEP announced $5 million in performance grants, which are awarded to local government applicants based on the amount of material they recycle per year.

The deadline to apply for next year's grants is Friday, Sept. 28, 2001.
