PET Recycling Process Gains FDA Approval

Washington, D.C. — The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved a process for recycling polyethylene terephthalate (PET) food containers from Visy Recycing, Melbourne, Australia. The process takes mixed containers from curbside collection programs and separates, cleans and reprocesses the material to meet food-quality standards, according to the company.
