  • Paul Hardiman has joined the board of directors for Waste Industries Inc., Raleigh, N.C.

  • Kent Grist, vice president of sales for Commercial Body Corp., San Antonio, has been named the 38th president of the National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA), Farmington Hills, Mich.

  • Jim Westlake has been named service manager for Sennebogen North America, Charlotte, N.C.

  • Houston-based GSE Lining Technology Inc. has named Gary R. Joachim vice president of North American sales and marketing, Steve Eckhart vice president of regional sales, Scott Biondi Mideast regional manager, Bob Trexler Southeast regional manager, and Rick Taylor Mountain regional manager.

  • President George W. Bush has named John L. Howard Jr. federal environmental executive to promote, coordinate, assist and track the federal government's work in waste prevention, recycling, and the purchase of recycled and environmentally preferable products and services.

  • Malcolm Pirnie Inc., White Plains, N.Y., has named current president William P. Dee CEO, and Jerry Frieling chairman of the board.

  • John A. Robb has been named president of RecycleNet Corp.'s Global Recycling Network (GRN), Guelph, Ontario.

  • Michelle Mikulec has been named automotive specialist for The Lavergne Group, Ville d' Anjou, Quebec, Canada.

  • Drew Sones has left his position as assistant director of the Los Angeles Bureau of Sanitation to join Denver-based R.W. Beck Inc. as senior consultant. Matt Evans also has joined the company as civil engineer.

  • Washington Group International Inc., Boise, Idaho, has announced three returning members to its board of directors: Dennis R. Washington, chairman; David H. Batchelder, outside director; and Stephen G. Hanks, president and CEO. The company also has named seven new directors: Michael R. D'Appolonia, C. Scott Greer, William E. Mallender, Michael P. Monaco, Cordell Reed, Bettina M. Whyte and Dennis K. Williams. Interim director Peter Boger will continue in his position until the company fills the eleventh position on the new board. The company also has named Jimmy M. Parker president of Rust Constructors Inc., Birmingham, Ala., a Washington Group subsidiary.

  • Bernhard Borgardt has been elected chairman of the European Plastics Converters (EuPC) Packaging Division, Brussels, Belgium, for a two-year term. EuPC also has named David A. Williams president for a two-year term.

  • RRT Design & Construction, Melville, N.Y., has named David Weitzman and John Matalevich vice presidents.
