Washington, D.C. -- The Senate Energy Committee has agreed with President George W. Bush's decision to bury approximately 77,000 tons of radioactive waste in Nevada's Yucca Mountain, despite protests from state residents.
The committee voted 13-10 and sent a resolution to override Nevada's veto of the $58 billion project to the Senate for anticipated final congressional approval within the next few months.
