Waste Companies Report Second Quarter Earnings

Folsom, Calif. — Waste Connections Inc. has reported second quarter 2002 revenues of $128.1 million, compared with revenues of $94 million for the same quarter last year. Operating income for Q2 was $34.8 million, compared with operating income of $25.9 million for the same quarter last year. Net income was $14.3 million, compared with net income of $6.4 million for the same quarter last year.

Braintree, Mass. — Clean Harbors Inc. has reported second quarter revenues of $60.1 million, compared with revenues of $62.3 million for the same quarter last year, and net income of $483,000, compared with net income of $2.4 million for the same quarter last year. Included in the second quarter’s net income are expenses of $1.1 million related to the acquisition of the chemical services division of Safety-Kleen Corp., Columbia, S.C.

Warrenton, Ore. — Ag-Bag International Ltd. has reported second quarter 2002 net sales of $9.9 million, compared with net sales of $10.2 million for the same quarter last year, and net income of $542,010, compared with net income of $460,597 for the same quarter last year.
