Milwaukee -- Wisconsin Electric (WE) has signed an agreement with Wisconsin's Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to retrieve and burn ash buried in company landfills. The result of old power plants' inefficient coal-burning procedures, this ash now will be burned to create electricity, the company says. The resulting combustion products will be sold for reuse rather than landfilled.
