Los Angeles Discusses Garbage Disposal District in Antelope Valley

Concerns about illegal dumping have led the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works’ to propose a Garbage Disposal District in Antelope Valley.

The Association of Rural Town Councils held a special Zoom meeting to discuss the measures for unincorporated areas. This comes following the introduction of three new waste reduction laws.

While LA County currently has seven garbage disposal districts, Antelope Valley residents currently operate on an open market system where the county cannot "regulate the fees charged, services provided or the quality of service."
