Albuquerque Sees Boost In Commercial Recycling

Albuquerque  (N.M.) Solid Waste Management officials say they’ve seen a big improvement across the board in recycling rates in 2016, but where they’ve really seen an increase is in commercial recycling.

Associate Director, Jill Holbert, says they’ve seen a huge increase of 30 percent from last year. That amounts to about a half a million pounds.

Holbert says it also doesn’t matter where people live or what income level they have, but after looking at the routes and numbers of pounds per week, Holbert said there are certain neighborhoods that are recycling more than others.
