Oregon Bottle Recycling Value to Increase to 10 Cents in 2017
The value of cans and bottles that can be redeemed in Oregon will rise to 10 cents next year.
The recycling value of cans and bottles that can be redeemed for cash in Oregon will increase in 10 cents in 2017. This increase is due to a state law, which boosts the recycling value to 10 cents if the return rate for can and bottles does not meet 80 percent within a two-year time period.
The change will go into effect on April 1, 2017.
Many states have had success with bottle deposit bills, although in some places states did not renew legislation.
