Acquisition Weyerhaeuser Co., Tacoma, Wash., has ac-quired Recycall Corp., Atlanta.

United Waste Systems Inc., Greenwich, Conn., has ac-quired Partyka Resource Man-agement Inc., which owns a landfill and collection company in Granby, Mass., and a landfill in Chicopee, Mass.

Agreement Apollo Wood Recovery Inc., Fontana, Calif., has agreed to supply CanFibre Group Ltd., Vancouver, B.C., with wood waste.

TBN Holdings Inc., Cleve-land, has agreed to manage a waste-derived fuel facility at a Medusa Corp. cement plant in Wampum, Pa.

Award The Caterpillar Inc. Engine Center, Mossville, Ill., has been awarded QS-9000 certification.

Contracts The Cape May County, N.J., Municipal Utili-ties Authority has contracted Emcon, Rutherford, N.J., to design future cells for its landfill in Cape May County, N.J.

The Tennessee Valley Au-thority, Chattanooga, Tenn., has contracted Houston-headquartered Browning-Ferris In-dustries to provide waste re-duction and recycling services.

New Facility GreenCycle of Georgia, a subsidiary of Green-Cycle Inc., Northfield, Ill., will operate compost facilities in Merk Miles, Ga. and Morgan Falls, Ga., and a recycling center in Fulton County, Ga.

Laidlaw Waste Systems Inc., Burlington, Ontario, has opened a 74,000-square-foot recycling center in Dallas.

American Resource Recovery Ltd., Maywood, Ill., has opened a new recycling facility in Maryneal, Texas.

Square D Co., Raleigh, N.C., has opened a paper recycling facility at its Knightdale, N.C., manufacturing plant.

National Rubber Michigan Inc., Flat Rock, Mich., will open a tire recycling plant to process 1.5 million scrap tires annually.

Permit Commodore Environmental Services Inc., New York, N.Y., has been granted a permit by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency research and develop disposal methods for polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB).

Strategic Alliance Black & Veatch, Kansas City, Mo., and PKF-Mark III, a privately held general contractor, have signed a strategic alliance to provide engineering, procurement and construction services for environmental projects in the northeastern United States.

Study The City of Phoenix has selected Maguire Group Inc., Foxborough, Mass., to conduct a feasibility study on a fast-track schedule for a major expansion to the city's recycling program.
