Penn Waste Announces New Recycling Guidelines for Customers in Pennsylvania

The guidelines went into effect on July 1.

In response to China’s waste import ban and contamination standard, Penn Waste has announced new recycling guidelines for its customers in Pennsylvania.

The guidelines, which went into effect on July 1, state that only clean and dry newspaper and dry and flattened cardboard, none with any food contact or contamination, is recyclable. The guidelines also say that regular paper, junk mail and magazines are no longer accepted in recycling bins.

Penn Waste customers, it's time to find a new avenue for recycling most of your paper products.

The locally owned and operated waste management and recycling service announced on its Facebook page on Tuesday afternoon new recycling guidelines, particularly involving paper.

"Effective July 1, 2018, our new recycle guidelines have been implemented," the post stated, linking to the new policy on its website.
