Todd Rumpke, the vice president at Colerain Township, Ohio-based Rumpke Waste & Recycling, died from cancer on September 7, 2016. Rumpke grew up in the waste and recycling industry and learned his skills from Tom Rumpke, his father and former Rumpke co-president and CEO.
In addition to his work at Rumpke Waste & Recycling, he built cars and had a passion for drag racing, auto crossing and road racing. Earlier this year, the racing community honored Rumpke at the 2016 Holley LS Gest in Bowling Green, Ky., where he retired his racing number, 63.

Todd Rumpke, the vice president at Colerain Township-based Rumpke Waste & Recycling, died on Sept. 7 at the age of 53 from cancer.
Born June 3, 1963, Mr. Rumpke grew up in the family business, adoring all things Rumpke from the time he was a boy and learning from his father, the late Tom Rumpke, the former Rumpke co-president and CEO.
"He was a wonderful and generous man, the very best husband, father and friend you could ask for," Sonya, Todd Rumpke's widow, said in a news release. "He always said, 'Just do the right thing and it will always work out.'"
