Waste Management Board Member W. Robert Reum Dies at Age 74
W. Robert "Bob" Reum, Waste Management’s non-executive chairman of the board, died on February 4 of complications at the age of 74.

W. Robert "Bob" Reum, Waste Management’s non-executive chairman of the board, died on February 4 of complications at the age of 74.
In addition to his duties as a Waste Management board member, Reum served as CEO and president of Chicago-based Amsted Industries Inc. and was actively involved in Chicago’s cultural and nonprofit institutions.
Waste Management has named Independent Director Thomas Weidemeyer interim chairman of Waste Management until a successor is named.

A Waste Management Inc. (NYSE: WM) board member who had served the company for 14 years has died.
The Houston-based company's non-executive chairman of the board, W. Robert "Bob" Reum, died Feb. 4 from complications due to cancer. He was 74.
Reum served as chairman since 2012 after starting on Waste Management's board in 2003. He also served as CEO and president at Chicago-based Amsted Industries Inc., a company that manufactures products for railroad, vehicular and construction and building markets, according to the company's website.
