After a six-month hiatus from collecting Delray's trash, Waste Management is poised to take over the service again.
Late Tuesday, commissioners approved transferring trash pickup services from Southern Waste Systems to Waste Management pending the anticipated closing of Waste Management's recent approval to acquire Southern Waste Systems.
On Dec. 1, Waste Management received antitrust clearance from the Justice Department to acquire Southern Waste Systems. Representatives from both companies told city officials they expect to close the deal by the end of 2015.
