Virginia Plastics Recycling Program Sees 40 Percent Increase in 2014

A state program to recycle plastic pesticide containers collected 40 percent more pounds of them in 2014 than in the previous year.

The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services said Thursday that the program collected and granulated a total of 128,226 pounds of properly rinsed, empty plastic pesticide containers at 32 sites throughout the state.

Among the participating localities were Culpeper and Orange counties.
