EIA Announces New Officers

The Washington-based Environmental Industry Associations has elected Gordon Shaw, president of Marathon Equipment, Vernon, Ala., as chairman of its Board of Trustees and re-elected Charles Appleby, chairman and CEO of Jacksonville, Fla.-based Advanced Disposal Services, as treasurer.

The Washington-based National Solid Wastes Management Association (NSWMA) also has elected Stephen Smith, president and chief operating officer of Hydro Geo Chem, Scottsdale, Ari., and Donald Williamson, president of West Central Sanitation, Willmar, Minn., as representatives to the EIA Board of Trustees. Mary Margaret Cowhey, vice president of Chicago-based Land and Lakes, also was elected as an alternate to the board.

The Washington-based Waste Equipment Technology Association (WASTEC) has elected Scott Dols, president of Tampa, Fla.-based Trucks & Parts of Tampa, to the EIA Board of Trustees.

“Gordon, Charlie, Steve, Don, Mary Margaret and Scott are all great leaders, representing different aspects of the solid waste industry, said Bruce Parker, president and CEO of NWSMA and EIA, in a press release. “They bring valuable experience and leadership to our associations.”
