Maine To Require Recycling of Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs

Maine Governor John E. Baldacci has signed Legislative Directive 973, which requires manufacturers of compact fluorescent bulbs to implement programs to recycle the products, into law. The bill is slated to go into effect on Sept. 12.

The bill says manufacturers have to establish their recycling programs by 2011.
