The New York State Association for Reduction, Reuse and Recycling (NYSAR3) today announced a grant to provide beverage container collection bins to improve public space recycling in New York State. The grant is funded as part of an environmental benefit project and offered through a partnership between NYSAR3 and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.

According to a NYSAR3 press release, the grant will provide beverage container collection bins to New York youth and community organizations with facilities that are open for public use. The collection bins can be used either indoors or outdoors and are intended for the collection of both deposit and non-deposit containers.

Applications are available at www.nysar3.org and must be submitted by April 15, 2009 to [email protected] or NYSAR3, PO Box 3913, Albany, NY 12203. Questions should be directed to Diane Woske, President of NYSAR3, at (518) 736-5501. The organization expects to announce grant recipients on Earth Day, April 22, 2009.
