SWANA Announces 2009 Excellence Award Winners

The Silver Spring, Md.-based Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) has announced the winners of its 2009 Excellence Awards. The awards are “designed to recognize facilities, operations and programs that are committed to environmentally and economically sound management of solid waste, and also to encourage innovation,” according to SWANA.

The winners will receive their awards at a luncheon to be held during SWANA’s WASTECON show on Thursday, Sept. 24. “These Excellence Award winners represent the most innovative, professional solid waste management operations in North America,” said John H. Skinner, executive director and CEO of SWANA, in a press release. “The communities that they serve should be very proud of their outstanding accomplishments.”
