Waste Industries Announces Fourth-Quarter Earnings, Buys Three Companies

Raleigh, N.C. — Waste Industries USA Inc., Raleigh, N.C., posted a net income of $3.9 million on revenue of $72.7 million during fourth-quarter 2004. During fourth-quarter 2003, the firm reported a net income of $908,000 on revenue of $70.6 million.

For 2004, the company posted a net income of $13.2 million on revenue of $290.9 million. One year earlier, Waste Industries reported a net income of $7.8 million $269.2 million.

The firm also has announced the purchase of three waste companies in the metropolitan Atlanta area. The three firms are A Plus Disposal Inc., D&D Disposal and Southland Disposal.
