Waste Pro has launched a program at Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Airport that allows visitors to place both trash and recyclables in the same container. The Longwood, Fla.-based hauler later sorts the recyclables from the trash.

Officials are predicting that the program will reduce the amount of waste that the airport sends to landfills by 50 percent within a year and by 70 percent within two years. Approximately 250,000 people visit Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Airport each day. Nearly 70 tons of waste is generated at the site per day.
