Boy with Cystic Fibrosis Becomes a Garbage Man for a Day

Utah’s Make-A-Wish Foundation teamed up with Waste Management to grant Austin Trusty, a 15-year-old boy with cystic fibrosis, with a chance to become a garbage man for a day and a trip to Walt Disney World.

Austin has a passion for garbage, garbage cans and garbage trucks, and he was thrilled to have the chance to run his neighborhood route as a copilot of the same truck he watches every Monday.

Fox 13 News has more details:

Austin Trusty is a 15-year-old who loves Disney movies and garbage trucks, and he had a wish granted this week by the Make-A-Wish Utah foundation.

Austin enjoys garbage pick up day.

"Because when I don't have school I chase that [truck] around my neighborhood… It’s my hobby," he said.
