The Broken Arrow, Okla., City Council recently approved two pilot programs that will allow hundreds of residents to participate in curbside recycling. The first program will continue the city’s longstanding collection of garbage in trash bags and add plastic carts for recyclables, and the second program will provide residents with one cart for trash and one cart for recyclables.

The voluntary programs, which are being funded by the Broken Arrow Municipal Authority, will cost $300,000.
