Portland, Ore., Senior Citizen Charged Over $1K for Trash Bags
American Disabled & Disadvantaged Workers demanded that his grandmother-in-law pay her bill or be reported to a collection agency.

Virgina Ranken, a 98-year-old Portland, Ore., resident, received a call from a for-profit telemarketing business called American Disabled & Disadvantaged Workers and was charged more than $1,000 for 30 rolls of plastic trash bags.
Ranken’s grandson-in-law, Brian Wilson, found out what happened and reached out to the for-profit to try to resolve the issue. Wilson claims that the company told him that she has been a customer of the for-profit for four years and has always paid her invoices without incident. The company demanded that his grandmother-in-law pay her bill or be reported to a collection agency.

A 98-year-old Portland woman was charged more than $1,000 for trash bags.
Virgina Ranken received 30 rolls of plastic bags after getting a phone call from a company named American Disabled & Disadvantaged Workers.
“You feel sorry for them. If you can help them you do,” said Ranken.
