SCRR to Replace Bins Before Contract Begins with Windsor, Calif.

In anticipation of its contract beginning on October 1 with Windsor, Calif., Sonoma County Resource Recovery, LLC (SCRR) is working to replace the town’s residential bins from its old hauler Windsor Refuse and Recycling with new bins. In addition, the hauler is in the process of getting all of the required vehicles needed to service its new customers.
Under the new contract, residents will also receive two-gallon food waste pails that can be placed on the counter or under the sink and emptied into the organic waste carts for curbside pickup.

Sonoma County Resource Recovery, LLC, the town’s new waste hauler, is taking over its duties as of Oct. 1 and the company’s first official action is to replace the cans and bins of outgoing provider Windsor Refuse and Recycling.
After a contentious and drawn out process, replete with legal threats and lawsuits, it’s been an uphill battle for SCRR to be ready to take over the contract on time, according to officials.
“I can’t believe how quickly they have been able to ramp up to be ready for us on Oct 1,” said Mayor Debora Fudge. “I’ve never seen a hauler get ready as quickly as they have and I’m very pleased with what I’ve seen so far.”
