Since 2009, Waste Connections has partnered with Recyclebank to offer its customers rewards and incentives for recycling. But as of yesterday, that partnership has come to an end. The company's and its customers’ participation in the program ended on Monday, and Waste Connections will soon replace the program with Recycling Perks, which focuses on local businesses in its rewards system.

Through the new program, customers will be able to earn up to $25 a month in discounts for their recycling efforts.

The Wichita Eagle has more:

Waste Connections’ recycling rewards program comes to an end Monday and customers’ unredeemed points will be lost.

Waste Connections customers who participated in the Recyclebank program earned points when they recycled. Those points could then be redeemed for coupons and discounts online. Points not redeemed by 11:59 p.m. Monday will be lost, according to a Recyclebank receptionist.

Waste Connections customers who participated in the program received an email Monday notifying them that they would lose their Recyclebank points and that their accounts would be deactivated.
