This week, the Wrightsville Beach, N.C., Board of Alderman will vote on a request for proposal (RFP) to offer curbside single stream recycling services to residents, which is currently not a service provided by the town.
According to the RFP, the town is seeking a contractor that will provide new 95-gallon carts for the recycling services. In addition, the contractor would be responsible for all collection, transportation and processing of the recycled materials.

Residents in Wrightsville Beach could soon get their own curbside recycling service if the town’s Board of Aldermen agree to approve a request for proposals (RFP) during its Thursday night meeting.
Recycling on the island is currently not a service provided by the town, instead, New Hanover County has placed several large recycling containers at Town Hall, where residents of Wrightsville Beach, as well as New Hanover County, are able to dispose of recycling, Bill Squires, public works director, said.
According to the RFP that will be discussed during the aldermen’s meeting, the town is looking for a contractor that will provide new 95-gallon carts for curbside recycling. The new recycling service would be townwide and be single-stream collection for single-family homes as well as multi-family dwellings with less than six units.
