BV Recycling employee Emilio Ortega went above and beyond his typical job duties last week when he notified police after witnessing a man stealing packages and fishing equipment from a residence.

The police were able to track down and arrest the alleged thief, Joseph Wayne Koon, who happened to have the stolen property still in the back of his truck.

KBTX has more information:

The side of Emilio Ortega's truck says "Act Locally." The BV Recycling truck driver proved that last week. Ortega was driving his collection route last Thursday on Ashburn Ave. in College Station when he caught an alleged thief in the act.

"I saw a gentleman pull up in front of me looking non-stop at a certain house. All of a sudden, he backed in and I saw him grab a few packages and throw them in the back of his truck," Ortega said.

It was the thief's treatment of fishing poles that tipped Ortega off.
