Meridian Waste’s Shotwell Environmental Park Annual Charity Pumpkin Patch Attracts More than 400 Neighbors at Recent Event
October 10, 2023
Raleigh, N.C. - October 9, 2023, Meridian Waste North Carolina LLC, an integrated, non-hazardous solid waste services company, welcomed more than 400 guests from the surrounding areas of Wake and Johnston Counties to the fourth annual Charity Pumpkin Patch at Shotwell Environmental Park on Saturday, October 7.
Guests enjoyed pumpkin painting, inflatable slides, obstacle courses, face painting, and a free BBQ lunch. The main attraction was the pumpkin patch where guests picked a pumpkin and made a charitable donation which Meridian Waste generously matched. This year’s donation recipients are East Wake Education Foundation and Good Hope Baptist Church.
In addition to the family-friendly fall festivities, guests were invited to learn about the daily activities at the construction and demolition landfill by taking a hayride tour around the property while they viewed several types of heavy machinery and participated in the Touch-A-Truck area.
“It’s a great day with when you get to watch children running around with their faces painted and bouncing on obstacle courses while knowing we are making a difference in our surrounding communities,” stated North Carolina Area President Patrick Messinger. “We are grateful for our guests’ generosity in selecting their perfect pumpkins, and Meridian Waste is proud to match the donations.”
