The Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana is collecting wreaths on January 13, after the decorations finish their display at the Chalmette National Cemetery.

The wreaths display went up at the cemetery on December 16 as part of the Wreaths Across America program. One the wreaths are picked up, they will be brough to the Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana (CRCL) headquarters for preparation to be placed in Quarantine Bay.

Maddie Foster-Martinez, University of New Orleans professor, and her students are working on a plan for how the wreaths will be prepared and placed. The wreath recycling project will keep the wreaths out of landfills and used to “encourage sediment accumulation around Quarantine Bay.”
