The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Corporate Citizenship Center joined forces with environmental data expert Trucost and the Ellen MacArthur Foundation to create Trash to Treasure, a report that uses data and research to break down the opportunities industries have to reduce waste and increase profitability.

Currently, both large and small companies are challenged with reconfiguring manufacturing and production to reduce waste and adopt more circular economy models. In 2014 alone, 5,589 of the largest publicly traded businesses sent 342 million metric tons of waste to landfills and incinerators.
