Boston -- The city of Boston is partnering with the National Recycling Coalition (NRC), Washington, D.C.; Time Inc., New York; International Paper, Stamford, Conn.; and recycler FCR, Charlotte, N.C., to promote magazine and catalog recycling. As part of the "Recycling Magazines is Excellent," or ReMix program, city officials and partners will advertise to residents that magazines and catalogs can be included with other paper products in the city’s current curbside recycling collection. The success of the program will be tracked by the partners and announced at the 23rd Annual National Recycling Coalition Congress and Exposition in San Francisco in August, according to NRC sources. Casella Waste Systems Inc., Rutland, Vt., is the parent company of the ReMix recycling processor, FCR.
