San Bernardino Files Lawsuit over Proposed Wastewater Plant

The City of San Bernardino, Calif., has filed a lawsuit to challenge a proposed wastewater plant located near Indian Springs High School. The city is raising concerns around health, cost, the environment, the damage of local watersheds and the endangered Santa Ana sucker fish.
The lawsuit claims that the EIR didn’t provide “substantial evidence or analysis” to prove that the wastewater plant wouldn’t degrade Bunker Hill Basin’s water quality. The Bunker Hill Basin currently serves as an underground water supply to many East Valley cities and the City of Riverside.

San Bernardino has filed a lawsuit challenging an environmental impact report for a proposed wastewater plant near Indian Springs High School, citing public health, environmental and cost concerns.
Mayor Carey Davis issued a statement saying, “Our first priority is to protect our residents.”
Among other issues, the lawsuit raises questions and concerns about the project damaging local watersheds and the endangered Santa Ana sucker fish.
