WM, Pepsi Install Recycling Kiosks in High-Traffic Public Areas

Houston-based Waste Management and PepsiCo are placing recycling kiosks in public areas — such as gas stations, stadiums and public parks — throughout the country. Consumers can place bottles or cans in the kiosks and receive points that eventually add up to various rewards.

More than 50 the kiosks, which are called “Dream Machines,” have been installed in Southern California, and the drug-store Rite-Aid has announced that it will place kiosks at 150 of its North Carolina locations. The machines are operated by Greenopolis, a subsidiary of Waste Management.
