ReCommunity Recycling has appointed James Devlin as its CEO, effective March 4.

The Charlotte, N.C.-based recycling firm said in a news release that Devlin will focus on developing and implementing ReCommunity’s strategy to broaden its reach within existing markets, enter new geographic markets and expand its product line.

Devlin has 27 years of experience in the oil recycling, waste and logistics businesses. He most recently served as president of Heckmann Environmental Services (HES), the environmental and waste recycling solutions division of Heckmann Corp. From 2008 to March 2012, Devlin served as CEO of Thermo Fluids Inc. (now known as HES, following Heckmann’s acquisition of the company), the largest producer of fuel oil recovered from used motor oil in the western United States.

Devlin also has worked as a regional vice president at Waste Management Inc., with responsibility for southern California, the San Francisco bay area and Arizona.
