Wilmington, N.C. Rolls Out New Trash Trucks

Eighteen new trucks have joined the City of Wilmington’s fleet for solid waste pickup services.

The trucks, which replace older ones that had been experiencing maintenance issues, will be in service starting this week, the city said in a notice.

Eight of the new trucks will be used for yard waste pickup—a service that strained aging trucks last year when higher-than-normal volumes caused some delays in collections. Last winter’s ice storms were major contributors to the increase in yard waste.
