Franklin County, Tenn., Eyes Incinerator

It’s no exaggeration to say Franklin County Solid Waste Management Director William Anderson has been in hot pursuit to find more efficient ways to dispose of non-recyclable waste.

He said the most important component in his five-year plan for the future of the Franklin County Solid Waste Disposal Center is based on an urgent problem that cannot be ignored.

“We have to find some way to get rid of garbage for Franklin County other than landfilling,” he said, “and the way we’re looking right now is an incinerator program. It’s called Waste to Energy.
