The NFL Draft has come and gone, leaving behind a lot of questions for the Atlanta Flacons and what will become of the massive stage built for the event? Fortunately, we can answer one of those burning questions.

The city of Detroit set records for attendance at this year’s NFL Draft, as fans flocked to the massive area constructed for one of the league’s yearly premier events. Now that all 257 picks have been made, the city has started tearing down the stage to be recycled.

The materials collected from the tear down will be donated to local non-profits such as Detroit Dog Rescue (DDR). DDR will use the turf, fencing, and set pieces while other stage materials will be used to build DDR’s free and low-cost spay and neuter clinic.

"That’s right, the same materials you see on TV will be coming to help the dogs," said Kristina Millman-Rinaldi, DDR executive director.

"This means no waste in Detroit, a whole lot of recycling, and everything you see will be put to good to use. Detroit Dog Rescue was chosen along with a few other non-profits for our outstanding work in the City of Detroit."
