Wegmans to Carry Better Battery's Sustainable Battery Option

Better Battery Co. has partnered with Wegman's to sell sustainable batteries. The Los Angeles-based company's carbon-neutral alkaline battery is coupled with an integrated recycling initiative and a zero landfill guarantee.

The products will be available at more than 100 Wegman's supermarkets across the United States beginning August 2023.

This strategic collaboration with Wegmans is a pivotal move for Better Battery Co., emblematic of the company's venture into retail partnerships within the grocery sector.

The partnership coincides with Wegmans' core values of sustainability and community engagement. Established in 1916 in Rochester, New York, Wegmans is a venerable privately held supermarket chain. With an expansive presence encompassing 109 stores across eight states and the District of Columbia, Wegmans' values align with the circular mission of Better Battery Co.

Better Battery's goal is to provide consumers with an alternative to conventional alkaline batteries. The company's sustainable approach to battery and packaging recycling ensures the reclamation of each constituent element, reducing the carbon footprint associated with all stages of battery production, distribution and recycling.

The extensive product range available at Wegmans encompasses six distinct SKUs, accommodating a spectrum of battery necessities: AA-40, AAA-40, Combo kit (20-AA + 20-AAA), 12-C, 12-D, and 12-9V.

Each package performs a dual role by safeguarding the batteries and facilitating a hassle-free return for recycling, streamlining the recycling process.
