This week, a new recycling center has opened for residents of Mobile, Alabama, aptly named the Parkway Recycling Center on the Peninsula.

According to officials, the new recycling center was funded through a grant from the Recycling Partnership and is part of an initiative to expand recycling to the city. This third drop-off side was established to make recycling easier and more accessible for area residents.

The city of Mobile uses a single-stream recycling method, meaning users do not need to sort their recyclables.

The news of the newly opened recycling facility is only two weeks removed from the city of Mobile ending its glass recycling programs.
