Wilmington, Del. — In a shareholder lawsuit brought against former Waste Management Inc. (WMI) executives, a Delaware chancery court has approved a $23.7 million settlement. This case, which argues that WMI executives who engaged in questionable accounting practices should not receive severence packages, derives from a larger shareholder suit settled in Sept. 1999 for $220 million.
