The Negus waste transfer station located in Redmond, Ore. is about to get a major upgrade to the tune of $20 million.
Commissioners approved the plans after working with designers for more than a year. Traffic has increased at the transfer station throughout the years, which has caused overcrowding on the waste-handling side of the site.
The expansion will not make any changes to the recycling portion of the transfer station. It is estimated that it will take a year to complete.
