Chrin Brothers Landfill Expansion Plan Clears DEP Hurdle

Chrin Brothers Sanitary Landfill has completed its application for an expansion in Williams Township, but final approval of the expansion is still estimated to be more than a year away, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection says.

The DEP in a letter dated Monday informs the landfill that it now has "sufficient detail" to conduct a technical review of the proposed expansion.

"This is not a final action by DEP on this application," the letter says. "The completeness review is the first in a series of reviews conducted by the DEP."
