Minot, N.D., Purchases 320 Acres of Land to Extend Landfill’s Life

The city of Minot, N.D., has purchased 320 acres of land at a price tag of $4 million to extend the life of its landfill by more than 60 years.
The extension will allow the city to continue to accept about 15,000 tons of residential waste, 15,000 tons of commercial waste and 80,000 tons of waste from surrounding counties annually.

The City of Minot says it signed an agreement today to purchase 320 acres of land to extend the life of the city's landfill by more than 60 years.
Jason Sorenson, the assistant Public Works director, says it is necessary for future expansion of the City of Minot landfill.
