San Jose Again Delays Vote on Newby Island Landfill Expansion

San Jose Planning Commission for the third time in two months delayed a decision regarding the proposed expansion of San Jose's Newby Island Landfill and Resource Recovery Park by 95 feet in height at 1601 Dixon Landing Road.

The seven-member commission on Feb. 11, pared down to four voting members due to one vacant seat and two abstentions based on conflicts of interest, continued the meeting to May 6 to allow for a new fifth commission member (expected to be appointed by San Jose City Council in April) to be seated.
