Chinese E-Waste Recycling Company to Bring 45 Jobs to Anson County, N.C.

The new $500,000 e-waste recycling facility will reclaim old computers, cell phones, television and other e-waste items.

USB Recycling, a unit of a large e-waste recycling company based in Tianjin, China, is turning a 23,000-square-foot former shirt factory in Anson County, N.C., into a new $500,000 e-waste recycling facility, which will reclaim old computers, cell phones, television and other e-waste items.

USB will employ 15 workers when it opens, and the number of employees is expected to grow to 45 within three years.

This may be the best latest example of a new industry replacing an old one in the Charlotte region.

A Chinese electronic waste recycler has bought a former Anson County shirt factory with plans to bring a 45-employee company there to reclaim old computers, mobile telephone, televisions and other e-waste.

It’s like a cut-and-sew apparel operation being turned into a 21st-century recycling operation.
