E-Waste Recycler Buys Texas Facility
An e-waste recycler has acquired a facility in Texas for recycling, the first of a larger expansion program.
Image Microsystems bought a 100,000-sq.-ft. facility in Kyle, Texas, that will add to its asset recovery, recycling and sign substrate manufacturing capabilities. Once the facility is remodeled Image Microsystems will be able to process more than a quarter million pounds of e-waste plastic daily, the company said in a news release.
The Kyle facility is the first of five e-waste operations the company expects to add. Image Microsystems plans to eventually invest more than $30 million in facilities in California, Florida, Michigan and Pennsylvania in addition to the Kyle plant.
"We are excited about the opportunity to increase our e-waste recycling and MicroStrate signage manufacturing capabilities," said Alex Abadi, chief executive officer of Image Microsystems.
The Austin, Texas-based company describes itself as a leading provider of technology restoration, reverse logistics, e-waste recycling, and MicroStrate recycled products manufacturing.
MicroStrate sign substrate is made completely from recycled e-waste plastic.
